Centre Mark Messier was 30 years old when the 1991-1992 season began, his 13th in the NHL, and played it for New York Rangers. He played 79 of a possible 80 games and scored 35 goals and 72 assists for 107 points, 1.35 points per game. In the playoffs he played 11 games for 14 points. He won Hart Memorial Trophy, the first Swede ever to do it. He also won Ted Lindsay Award, the first Swede ever to do it.
