Centre Wayne Gretzky was 26 years old when the 1987-1988 season began, his 9th in the NHL, and played it for Edmonton Oilers. He played 64 of a possible 80 games and scored 40 goals and 109 assists for 149 points, 2.33 points per game. The season ended with Wayne Gretzky winning the Stanley Cup with Edmonton Oilers against Boston Bruins, after 18 playoff games and 41 points. He also won Conn Smythe Trophy, the first Swede ever to do it.
